Following a successful grant application to Tewkesbury Borough Council’s Community Safety Partnership Fund and receipt of other community funding, WAM is looking for a part-time (18 hours pw) Mentoring Project Manager to develop and extend our successful community mentoring project. The post holder will co-ordinate and manage the day to day aspects of the project, including managing a volunteer team of mentors, as well as develop links with other organisations to extend the project to jointly match mentors and mentees with the elderly and housebound in our community to provide companionship and practical support.
Our mentoring project is based on the XLM (www.xlm.org.uk) model of community youth mentoring and we maintain strong links with XLM for continuing training and support. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is keen to help build relationships between people within our local community not only to support young people in need but also to encourage them to support others around them.
The role is based in WAM’s office in Winchcombe and the post holder will work as part of a team delivering a range of youth and community projects including youth groups, outdoor education and the Simple Things community café. The role is initially for 12 months, however it is expected that this will be an ongoing role subject to securing additional funding after the 12 months.
Applications must be on WAM’s application form available from the contact details below.
Closing Date for Applications: 5pm Friday 29th April 2016
Interview Date: Monday 9th May 2016
For more details, an application form or an informal chat please contact Gemma Madle, Director of WAM on firstname.lastname@example.org or 07977 151046.
