This year you can help us achieve one of our specific goals:
It costs us £35 to mentor 1 young person per week. We are asking for 30 people to commit to supporting us with a monthly donation of £30 for 1 year. This will provide us with enough basic income to run our mentoring programme for 6 young people for one year. We can then supplement this income with specific grants and events.
- In January 2014 we had 2 mentors and 2 mentees
- In January 2015 this rose to 7 mentors and 13 mentees and we started training another 8 mentors
- By January 2016 we’re aiming to be providing 25 mentors to 25 young people in need
Could you help us by being one of our 30for30?

We will be starting our next round of mentor training in early 2015 and we are always looking for new mentors to join us! We work with all kinds of young people aged between 10 and 18 and so we need all kinds of mentors! There isn’t one type of person we’re looking for. No experience is necessary (although it is valued!) and full training will be given. What matters to us is that you care about the young people in our community and are able to commit to the training and twelve month programme. Please also note that as part of our recruitment process all our mentors will need to complete an enhanced DBS check.
So get in touch if you want to find out more! It’s a great way to make a difference and the experience will probably change you as much as it changes your mentee!
She did it!! This month Gemma took on the Thames Path Challenge with her friend Rosie and they walked the 100km in 22 hours 56 minutes raising a whopping £1300 for WAM! And whilst it was touch and go for a while she did manage to save both her little toenails!
